LIVE ‘Ask-the-Researcher’: The Turtles of Algonquin with Carter Rouleau

August 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

How long do Snapping Turtles live? Do Painted Turtles have ‘friends’?

For almost 50 years, researchers at the AWRS have investigated the life history of turtles living in Algonquin Park. Individuals are known by unique notch markings on their shells, and as they emerge from over-wintering each spring to bask and nest, our researchers measure their growth, and observe their behaviour. Over the years this work has revealed fascinating aspects of turtle life. Join us to hear more!

Carter will give us a brief introduction to the project and what a day in the life of a turtle researcher is like, before answering your questions about turtles!
