The WRS provides and maintains three campfire pits (with firewood), a sand-covered volleyball court and a regulation horseshoe pit. We also have a swim rock with a floating dock, a ping pong table and a variety of board games. All are available for use when spare time allows. Canoes are available for recreational trips into and around the research area.

The WRS is located halfway between the East and West gates of Algonquin Park along the Highway 60 corridor. This central location provides convenient access to all Algonquin Park exhibits and recreational facilities. Highly recommended among these are: The Algonquin Park Visitors Centre, Logging Museum, Art Gallery, Minnesing mountain biking trail, and the many famous self-guided hiking trails all along the corridor.
